Proud to Help: Making a Difference Together
September 9, 2025
At Tyndale, giving back isn’t an afterthought—it’s woven into who we are. Thanks to our Proud to Help Committee, spearheaded by Tyndale Owner Gail Whittenberger, our employee “members” have countless opportunities to support causes that matter, roll up their sleeves, and make a real impact. This year, our efforts have touched lives in many ways: from making monetary donations to supporting families after disasters to caring for our planet and animals in need.
Here’s how our members have come together so far in 2025:
When Crisis Strikes
In the wake of devastating LA wildfires and flooding in Kerr County, TX, our Proud to Help Committee stepped up to lend support. Donations to the American Red Cross and the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund meant immediate help for victims, first responders, and recovery teams. Our motivation was simple: when our communities are hurting, we want to be part of the solution.
Supporting Well-Being and Resilience
Sometimes, the smallest gestures make a profound impact. In February, members crafted handmade valentines that brought smiles to residents in a local nursing home. A month later, during No More/No Más Week, we raised awareness about domestic violence and donated to the Houston Area Women’s Center—offering hope and healing to those impacted.
We also came together in May for a Virtual 5K to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project®. Lacing up our sneakers wasn’t just about fitness—it was about honoring and supporting veterans and their families with every mile logged.
Feeding Hope
No one should have to wonder where their next meal will come from. Food banks especially need help in summer when children are not in school, as many families rely on school lunches to help keep their children fed. In June, our members donated a generous supply of nonperishable food items and packaged over 300 lunches for the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen. Additionally, 45 Tyndale members served throughout the month at the Houston Food Bank. It was humbling work, but also deeply rewarding to know our time and energy went directly to families who needed it most. Tyndale also donated $1,000 to each organization to strengthen their efforts to serve those facing food insecurity.
Caring for the Planet
April gave us a chance to celebrate Earth Month together. Tyndale members received solar phone chargers to support sustainability in our daily lives. Additionally, our members’ kids got their hands dirty at planting events for Take Your Child to Work Day in both PA and Houston, and Tyndale members joined the Walk for the Wild at the Houston Zoo. These experiences underscored the importance of protecting our environment for future generations.
Extending Kindness to Animals
Compassion at Tyndale means caring for all living things—people and animals alike. In July, we rallied around local organizations like the Last Chance Ranch in PA—one of very few rescue organizations that adopts horses and farm animals as well as domestic companion animals—and the SPCA Wildlife Center in TX. Our members collected supplies for animals in need, helping these organizations continue their important work.
Why It Matters
Each of these initiatives, whether running a 5K, providing food, or donating supplies, reflects the heart of our Tyndale community. Together, we’re proving that when many hands pitch in, small actions can create big change.
We’re proud of what’s we’ve accomplished so far, and even more excited about what’s ahead.
