What’s the Latest from our Proud to Help Committee?

At Tyndale, giving back isn’t just a simple act of kindness; it’s the very fabric of who we are. Led by our Proud to Help Committee, Tyndale employee “members” have taken the initiative to help support our local communities combat widespread concerns such as poverty, disease, environmental impacts, and more. And as each day passes, our commitment to serve grows stronger. Check out the organizations our members have supported so far in 2023:

2023 supported organizations and initiatives:

April – Environmental Support

One Tree Planted: In support of One Tree Planted, Tyndale members were given containers with marigold seeds to plant in their gardens – marigolds are excellent flowers for bees and pollinators – or give to others to spread environmental awareness. In addition, our members donated nearly $500 for birdhouses, which were placed around Tyndale’s Pipersville, PA and Houston, TX locations.

Houston Zoo: Tyndale members supported the Houston Zoo by participating in their Walk for the Wild 5k event to help assist the Houston Zoo’s wildlife-saving efforts. Tyndale contributed over $3,000 to the event, and our members donated nearly $150 towards that amount.

May Support for Families Impacted by Health Challenges

Ronald McDonald House: Tyndale members supported the Ronald McDonald House in Philadelphia by serving dinner and donating specific items to families who travel to the city for pediatric care at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children.

JuneEducational Support

Vita Education Services: Tyndale hosted a family movie night fundraising event and also held a raffle where members raised nearly $1,400 to support Vita Education Services, a leading literacy agency in the Bucks County, PA area.

BakerRipley: Tyndale held a Zumba charity event where members donated the sum of their participation fees (nearly $600 in total) to BakerRipley, a non-profit organization committed to providing education and resources to emerging communities in the Houston area.

July Support for Those in Need

Broad Street Ministry: Tyndale members supported Philadelphia’s Broad Street Ministry by serving meals as part of the ministry’s sanctuary lunch services. In addition, members volunteered to assist the ministry’s mail service by sorting, filing, and distributing mail to guests that use Broad Street Ministry’s mailing address as their own.

August – Family and Environmental Support

Elmwood Park Zoo: In support of the Elmwood Park Zoo, Tyndale members spent time cleaning up the park’s “Zoo Brew” area, so that parkgoers have a clean place to sit and enjoy their lunch. In addition, Tyndale donated over $900 in support of the eagles that inhabit the zoo.

Houston Foodbank: Between August 8 and August 18, Tyndale members worked together to organize and package donated food, as well as scan donation boxes. Their efforts aimed to assist the Houston Food Bank in distributing these supplies to schools, multi-service centers, and those in need within the Houston community.

None of this would be possible without YOU.

If it weren’t for our customers’ continued business, we would not be in a position to provide a positive and lasting impact on our environment and surrounding communities. We look forward to continuing to give back as our Proud to Help Committee selects organizations to support in the coming months. Stay tuned for the next Proud to Help update later this year!
