The list is out, and we’re on it! Tyndale’s distribution center in Houston, TX has been recognized by the Houston Chronicle as a Top Workplace – based on a survey of our employee “members” conducted by Energage. An independent third-party organization dedicated to capturing, studying, and sharing best practices around workplace culture and engaging and energizing employees, researchers at Energage used the survey responses to rank us against other employers of similar size in the region.
Our team in Houston is so important to Tyndale and the people who count on us – we’re excited to see it receive this well-earned recognition. After expanding our distribution operations to Houston in 2014, Tyndale built our existing facility from the ground up in 2018 – tripling our total square footage in Houston, with an additional 30,000 square feet available for future growth. Home to approximately 90 members (and counting!), our Houston facility provides faster transit times to many large oil, gas, chemical, and refining facilities, plus total redundancy of operations – including logo, repair, alterations, and returns services – with our Pennsylvania distribution location. This ensures we can provide continuous service in the event one of our distribution facilities is impacted by an outage or natural disaster.
According to Rob Galvin, Business Editor at the Chronicle, as the COVID-19 pandemic drags on, the best companies in the region “found ways to win the war of attrition and energize their employees, turning to technology, training and good old human caring. This year’s Top Workplaces honors those employers who never lost sight of the well-worn, but no less true adage that their most valuable assets are their employees. These companies stayed connected with employees, communicated openly and forthrightly, and maintained their focus on the mission, its importance and role each worker plays in achieving it.”

This award joins Tyndale’s headquarters offices and Pennsylvania distribution center as Top Workplaces – five years running – in the Philadelphia area, according to a similar survey conducted by Energage and the Philadelphia Inquirer. We hope to build on this success in the coming years in both locations – finding new and creative ways to:
