While it may not be the first thing that comes to mind, housekeeping plays a crucial role in workplace safety. The National Safety Council (NSC) Safety + Health Magazine recently published an article, highlighting the importance of housekeeping in a work environment and offered tips for effective housekeeping practices.
“Experts agree that all workplace safety programs should incorporate housekeeping, and every worker should play a part,” explains author, Sarah Trotto. In the article, Cari Gray, safety consultant for the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation, explains that housekeeping not only helps to prevent injuries, but can also increase productivity and morale. The article also states that the process should be continuous, not a one-time practice.
