NESC
National Electrical Safety Code Published by IEEE, the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC®) is a standard – adopted on the state level by state OSHA organizations– that sets the ground rules for practical safeguarding of workers during the installation, operation, or maintenance of electric supply and communication lines and associated equipment. This standard covers systems and equipment operated by utilities, or similar systems and equipment of an industrial establishment or complex under the control of qualified persons.
Adoption of the NESC varies by state. In areas where the code has been adopted, it is enforceable as law.
