Tyndale Achieves WBENC Re-Certification Through 2020

Did you know that Tyndale is a certified woman-owned business enterprise (WBE)? In fact, Tyndale has been woman-owned since 2007 and recently completed the requisite annual recertification process – achieving re-certification with the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) through 2020.

In 2007, when majority ownership of Tyndale transferred from Tyndale’s founder Dale Whittenberger to CEO Gail Whittenberger, our WBE status was first independently recognized by the California Public Utility Commission (CPUC).

In 2011, Tyndale went on to receive additional third-party certification by WBENC – the largest third-party certifier of businesses owned, controlled, and operated by women in the United States. Our current WBENC certificate is valid through April 2020.

Our WBE status and Gail’s leadership are important, defining aspects of our company. Going above and beyond her core duties as CEO, Gail plays a passionate and active role in Tyndale’s company culture, creating a family atmosphere within the company by knowing each employee by name, regularly acknowledging employee contributions, overseeing our Proud to Help committee in coordinating community outreach programs, and developing and funding programs that support employee safety and wellness. With the support of our customers, these features set Tyndale apart and allow us to make a positive impact in the lives of our employees, the communities around us, and beyond.

Why are WBEs and other diverse businesses important?

We believe strongly in – and are proud to partner with our customers to further – the energy, innovation, and value that diverse perspectives bring to the marketplace. Further, small, woman-owned businesses like Tyndale are in a position to positively impact the surrounding communities by creating jobs and hiring locally as we grow.
